I finished reading 'The Book of Life' two nights ago and in light of the creature cross-breeding concept, an early detail from 'A Discovery of Witches' occurred to me.
Ysabeau's description of Blanca, Matthew's wife in his human life as being "as pale as her name suggested" struck me as suggestive that perhaps she was a warmblood dominant half vampire or Dhampir is the established term for a warmblood/vampire hybrid.
Apart from the revealed archetype witch/vampire hybrid, there are other genetic possibilities. It's known from Sophie Wilson's lineage that two witches can conceive a daemon so a weaver and a vampire should be able to conceive a daemon/vampire hybrid considering that both must possess daemon DNA to be able to conceive period. If we take the revelation that Stephen Proctor's mother was human, we can also assume that a human/vampire hybrid is also possible.
I suspect that since Blanca doesn't fit the archetype, having presumably possessed neither magic or the habits of a vampire (neither would have gone unnoticed but no such manifestations were mentioned), she had to have been either a daemon/vampire or human/vampire hybrid. Unless she was just albino but she's described as pale and I'm almost certain pale and albino are not the same thing, that pale is a skin tone while albino is a pigmentation thing.
