We all got to taste some really, really excellent tea thanks to Laura and Karen at All Souls Con. Most of the characters in the books really seem to dig tea and wine while being very knowledgeable about both. This got me wondering, what sort of beverages were you drinking when you first read or re-read the books?
For me, it is/was a dead split between wine, tea, and coffee. I'm a sucker for a good quality rose but I also like burgundy and sauvignon. I also found myself consuming vast quantities of green and black tea as well as my favorite drink, the americano. The lack of coffee consumption in the book did not hold me back at all, and late-night reading has to be fueled by something, right?
So, what about you?

I never (never is a very long time, right?) rarely drink tea. I am strictly a quad shot latte loving Daemon. Let's just say the world is better off if I get my caffeine fix each day. The wine tasting at ASC was fabulous, and I really enjoyed it. I do enjoy wine...more dry whites and full bodied reds (again - I gotta go bold when I drink something), but I am expanding my palate and busting my comfort zone at appropriate times. Outside of wine, I love tequila. Truth be told though, my favorite all-time beverage is the universal solvent - water!

1 Coffee in the morning, 1 coke zero in the afternoon, a sippy-cup (the tall tumblers with a straw) full of water that I make myself refill twice a day (not just any water, I like Sparkling San pelligrino---still water!), and for the fermented fruit my fave beverages of choice are vodka and gin drinks! I do enjoy wine, but I'm no expert.

I'm the oenophile of the bunch. Anything grape - with the exception of really oaky chardonnay, grassy sav blanc and really barny French reds. Caffeine isn't a preference. It is a lifeline.

Coffee during the day. I actually have a Gaggia espresso machine on my desk at work. Wine for recreation. I have been collecting and tasting the red wines of the northern Rhone valley in France (e.g Cote Roti, Cornas), and white Burgundy (Chablis) Attachments:
